Hail May 1st, the Day of Unity and Solidarity of Workers Around the World!

Worker Comrades,

Once again, May Day, the day to demonstrate the global solidarity of the proletariat and of all the peoples of the world, has arrived. This historic day is a day of protest by hundreds of millions of labuorers against hunger and oppression in all its forms.

In this struggle, two opposing worlds confront each other: the world of capital and the world of labour; the world of exploitation, slavery, and neo-colonialism, and the world of brotherhood, equality, and the equal rights of nations; the world of war, imperialist and Zionist aggression, fascism, and racism, and the world of peace, bread, freedom, and solidarity.

In the world of capital, the working class continues its struggle through various forms against monopolies and neoliberal capitalist governments in defense of its rights. True to its nature, the bourgeoisie seeks to shift the burden of economic crises onto the shoulders of the working class.

This year in Iran, we mark International Workers' Day amid a deepening crisis of poverty and class division. This distressing trend continues under the ongoing neoliberal policies of Masoud Pezeshkian’s government and his associates, with no clear path toward improving the living conditions of workers, labourers, and the broader oppressed population. The class divide is widening, and the plundering of workers’ and laboruers’ earnings grows more blatant by the day. Prostitution, theft, administrative corruption, unemployment, crippling inflation, and rising poverty and destitution are all on the rise. Economic insecurity is pushing society to the brink of collapse. These neoliberal policies, coupled with the suppression of labour protests, the arbitrary and oppressive arrests of labour activists, serve only the interests of powerful domestic capitalists. The repression of workers and the systematic opposition to independent labour organizations form the very foundation of the Islamic Republic’s capitalist regime.

Worker Comrades,

After 19 months of failing to defeat and disarm the Palestinian resistance within the Gaza Strip, the Zionist regime of Israel has turned to a new weapon: starvation. In an attempt to force the heroic Palestinian nation into submission, it is using hunger as a tool of war. Yet even this inhumane policy has met with failure. Israel is committing full-scale atrocities against the civilian population of Gaza. This is nor a war, it is a genocide!

Today, Gaza stands as the dividing line between humanity and savagery, between fascism and anti-fascism. In the face of this brutal and unequal war, the working class of Iran and of the world must be at the forefront of the deepest and most resolute expressions of solidarity with the Palestinian people, both in Gaza and across the occupied territories.

This May Day, the flag of solidarity with the Palestinian people and against the genocide being carried out in Gaza by the Israeli aggressor army will be raised across the world. The Middle East will not see peace or stability so long as the warmongering, illegitimate, and colonial Zionist state of Israel continues to exist. Supporting the Palestinian people's struggle for liberation from Zionist aggression is not only an act of solidarity, but a defense of peace, human rights, and human dignity.

Worker Comrades,

U.S. imperialism, under the leadership of Donald Trump, is once again attempting to impose its domineering ambitions on Iran. Representing the interests of giant American financial monopolies, Trump seeks to subjugate Iran through military threats and pressure, aiming to force the regime into submission to colonial dictates. The Iranian regime, engaged in negotiations with the U.S. in Oman and Italy, approaches these talks from a position of weakness, and is focused on preserving the Islamic Republic itself.

The Trump administration is actively working to protect and expand the political and economic interests of American monopolies in the Persian Gulf region. At the same time, it aims to weaken and ultimately destroy Iran as a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, the Belt and Road Initiative, and as an ally of China and Russia.

In these circumstances, it is the duty of communists, conscious workers, and all revolutionary forces to raise awareness about the dangers of capitulation and the betrayals of the Islamic Republic’s capitalist regime. They must resist the bullying, sanctions, and military threats of U.S. imperialism, while working to independently organize the people, especially the working class, to safeguard the national interests of the Iranian people from being bartered away in dealings with imperialist powers.

Neither the regime’s submission nor its replacement through imperialist intervention will bring any benefit to the workers and laboring masses—just as we saw in Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Afghanistan.

The Party of Labour of Iran (Toufan) sends greetings to the workers of Iran and the world on this May Day, and we affirm that the greatest weapon in the struggle for workers’ rights is organization and class consciousness. The single party of the working class stands as the most vital class weapon in the fight against the bourgeoisie. Only through this path can we mobilize and lead the camp of labour and toilers to dismantle the machinery of capitalist repression. We can, through the establishment of socialism, liberate ourselves from exploitation and every remnant of the old oppressive order!

Long live the working class of Iran!
Long live the international working class and freedom loving peoples!
Long live socialism, the banner of humanity's liberation and progress!

The Party of Labour of Iran (Toufan)
