On the Assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a Prominent Iranian Nuclear Scientist

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was murdered on Friday night in Damavand. Three or four others were also killed in clashes and it is said that they were terrorists.

Between 2009 and 2011, four Iranian engineers linked to the Tehran nuclear program were assassinated. In that period, Massoud Ali Mohammadi, Majid Shahriari and Dariush Rezainejad were killed and Fereydoun Abbasi Davani was injured. In that period, an article was published in the New York Times about this, and Israeli high ranking officials welcomed the assassination of Iranian scientists and stated that they were making every effort to prevent the development of Iran's nuclear technology. Two years ago, Israeli Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was Iran's chief architects of nuclear program and said at a press conference that "his name should be remembered"!

On his Twitter page, Donald Trump published an Israeli journalist's tweet that reads: "According to reports in Iran, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was assassinated in Damavand, east of Tehran. He was the head of Iran's secret military program and had been wanted by Mossad for several years. "His death is a major psychological and professional blow to Iran.“

This targeted terrorist act is continuation of the killing of the Iranian nuclear researchers and is intended to increase tensions in the region. This is an attempt by Israel to prevent Biden's team to return to a diplomatic process and negotiate with Iran in regard to the nuclear agreement, 5 + 1, JCPOA. The spread of news on Netanyahu's secret meeting with Ben Salman and the latest news about a possible U.S. attack on Iran before Trump's departure from the White House, all are signs of provocations and psychological warfare against Iran and are related to the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

The purpose of this adventurous and terrorist operation is to provoke Iran for a military response and confrontation with the United States of America. As we have repeatedly emphasized, Israel does not want peace in the region, its survival is tied to creating division, and waging wars of aggression in the region. This is in the nature of the Israeli Zionism, a regional occupying power.

1) The Party of Labour of Iran (Toufan) strongly condemns this terrorist act and considers it a form of war of attrition against the Iranian people.

2) The Party of Labour of Iran (Toufan) condemns the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. We strongly condemn the economic sanctions against Iran. These reactionary actions are in conflict with peace, stability and security, in Iran and the region. These actions are against the interest of the masses of the Middle East.

3) These terrorist and provocative acts limit and overshadow the general political climate in Iran and adversely affect the struggle of the Iranian people for political, civil, and democratic rights. Such a political climate of fear and panic benefits only the reactionary and anti-popular forces in Iran.
